i live in america.
david fullarton is an artist originally from scotland who now lives in san francisco. he strings words and bizarre thought processes together w/ back drops of tape, paper, drawings, and scribbles. david's work makes me laugh out loud. his ramblings are thoughts we've all probably thought once or twice w/ undignified angst, clear disgust or just plain grumpy pants on. the difference is david pulls it off gracefully w/ his colorful images and carefully placed pieces of paper. my very favorite piece of his;"fate awaits" is of a striped clad hipster smoking a ciggie w/ the writing: "so much depends on you and yet you can't remember where you parked the car." so awesome. so true.
fait awaits.
be sure to check out his flickr page, where under each image is david's exceptional use of the english language. he's in a group show called "paperwork" at hang annex tonight, oct 4th 6-8pm.
