ambika, a blogger pal who writes (into)the fray a personal blog on her style, sewing, musings and all around sweetness tagged me and ask that i answer the following four q's. so here goes...
1. what's the story behind the name of your blog and your nickname?
it was a term of affection a friend sent to me over a text msg a little over a year ago. i'm a big believer in loving things whole heartedly and i'm not shy about my excitement when i really like something. so the name seemed perfect. i think it really conveys an intensity of love. sometimes i think in our culture there is a propensity to hide or be cynical about love, that if one is too 'over the top' you're a sap. i completely disagree w/ that, and think it's important to let your heart show.
i thought the name my love for you is a stampede of horses perfectly conveys the intensity and love i feel about the things i want to share in this blog.
2. Why did you start blogging in the first place?
i've carried a notebook w/ me for as long as i can remember. in it i keep scraps from magazines, notes, drawings, notes on music, art, fashion, inspirations and whatever else i want to remember in it. i really love connecting people and networking. i am always talking about new things i have discovered to friends, family and random strangers. i also really love the world wide intra webs, i am constantly finding stuff i love on here. so i wanted to do something w/ all the info i was finding. writing a blog seemed like a great way to combine all of the above. there were so many great blogs out there, i was a bit nervous at first and it took me about a yr to really come around. since i started i have become more focused on art since that is really where my passion lies.
3. What has been your best blogging related experience? What about the worst?
the whole experience has been totally positive for me. i think so far the best experiences i have is that i get to interact w/ really talented people all the time through the web. i am in constant contact w/ artists by email. it is rare that i do not get a response, and always, always, always they are so excited, kind and grateful. it's such a refreshing, wonderful experience to reach out to people whom you admire and have them reach back and be just as excited to talk about and share their work.
i have also had really positive experiences and interactions w/ fellow blogger gals who live all over the world. that has been truly inspiring and heartwarming.
i am happy to say that i have not had any bad experiences. i know that people leave lame comments, and i have seen it...but for some reason my blog doesn't seem to warrant a lot of comments either way. so luckily i have been free from the haters. people do send me emails, but they are always positive. i am grateful for that.
4. What do you think will happen to your blog in 2008?
i am really excited to see where things take me and my blog in 2008. i have found that things so far have just sort of developed on their own. but i do have specific goals for my blog. which i need to keep underwraps cause i'm superstitious! but most of all i am looking forward to getting to know more artists and help spread the creativity and love.
i'd like to hear from these ladies...
