our family pets past and present.
ok, let me just get this out in the open right now: i am a sucker for a deer. let's face it; i'm a girl. i love little cute animals. i do. my whole world got brighter the day my friend katie sent me a link to cute overload. no lie. what does this have to do w/ you? heisuke kitazawa, that's what.
heisuke is an illustrator in japan. his images paint a world of an apocalyptic wonderland. where animals are comrades and bff's and amoeba like blobby things befriend children. my kind of town. his work is, among other things, a delightful array of colors, imagination and awesome detail. he's done work for many bands, products for poketo, t-shirts for threadless.com.
if you aren't familiar w/ his work please go to his website. not only is his website completely creative, helpful and informative...it's a pleasure to look through. he's also got a little shop on there w/ some great items. heisuke is part of the upcoming show incidental nature at GR2, along w/ kozyndan and robert bellm, that opens on january 19th. he'll have twelve pieces on display in digital and acrylic mediums w/ subjects of "ghosts, ducks and emptiness." sounds perfect.
wake me up before you go.
