ryan mrozowski's paintings show community in many different forms. seemingly private and some what secretive societies, they are sermons, baptisms, lectures, exhibits or concerts. i appreciate the use of color, both bright and dark in ryan's paintings. there is an emotion that comes across very subtly in his work. as a veiwer i almost feel as if i am sneaking stolen glances of intimate moments of strangers. that is eaxactly what ryan is going for:
"in my paintings i depict crowds of figures gathered in the pursuit of knowledge and entertainment. my work is about the effort to understand our world through the various lenses of history, spirituality, science, music, horror films, consumerism, video games, theater productions, sports, literature, etc. above all i am interested in a life lived vicariously." ryan mrozowski.
