a friend recently sent me a link to kiersten essenpries' work. i was immediately taken w/ kiersten's dark, fairy tale paintings. her crypts and bloods painting is the best on so many levels, besides the fact that it has a narwhal in it, i love that she uses children of the corn like kids to get the point across. kiersten clearly has a well honed sense of wit. her sense of humor is wildly apparent on her site as well, telling you to 'hold your horses' as her images load. check out paper magazine in the near future, where kiersten has full reign of the back page to do what she will w/ it. should be a great thing.
