i think one of the most special things in the world, is to be able to look through an artist's sketchbook. at least, it's one of my very favorite things to do. you get to see the beginnings, middles and the ends of work, thought processes, etc. it's a trip. below are a few of kenn goodall's sketchbook images along with some of his bangup illustrations. if only i could hold that sketchbook in my hands. here kenn, in his awesome words tells us a bit about himself:
i was born in 1981 in leeds in the UK, i am currently living in London. i studied illustration and graphic design in liverpool, home of the beatles, crime & tracksuits. i use lots of different media to make my work, drawing, painting, collage & a little bit of photoshop for my illustration work. i am inspired by lots of things, friends, good books, bad tv, music, movies. without sounding too arty farty, making images provides me with a warm glow inside and helps me to make sense of this ker-azy world.
i really couldn't have said it any better. kenn just recently finished trouvé, a limited edition, full color 32 page 'zine. you can purchase that through his blog. it looks beautiful. speaking of beautiful will you check out that illustration of joanna newsom below? kenn sure knows how to illustrate an awesome set of bangs.
