last night i saw the dodos play at the mfa here in boston. listen people, if you haven't seen them play i really urge you, plead with you to go. i first saw them a year and a half ago at my bff's store, and i cried when i saw them. the dodo's put on an amazing, powerful show. last night was no exception, it was indescribable. it's clear meric long the lead is a musical genius. i think it's safe to say i had a spiritual awakening during that show. i shit you not. warm fuzzies all around for sure. the dodos are currently touring, check out their dates and do your self something nice and buy a ticket. you won't regret it and if you do regret it, well i don't think we can be friends anymore. just sayin. below is a video of them in action.
i have been dying to write a post recently about all the great music that is out. sometimes i find my itunes in a bit of a famine state, where i am really craving new music. almost starving for it. luckily it's impossible around october to be at a loss for new music, which is often referred to as ROCKtober as a lot of bands are touring during the month. it's great time to hit up new bands and fill up your itunes. here is a list of just some of the music i currently have on repeat and/or in my genius play list.
throw me the statue
ting tings
noah and the whale
passion pit
black kids
damien jurado
the nurses
born ruffians
also, if you want more, down to the right on the blog is a relatively current list of what i am listening to and LOVING. what are you listening to? leave a comment and let us know...share the wealth!
