drew from gelaskins was kind enough to send jen lobo's print nantucket sleigh ride to me. i love the epicness of it. it's right above my desk, keeping me lost in it instead of doing things i need to be doing.

opening tomorrow, october 25th, at fecal face dot gallery in sf is tiffany bozic's solo show symmetrical balance. one of the most talented working artists today, tiffany's work is quite literally magnificent. symmetrical balance is new work on maple panel and hand painted prints. if you are in the bay area, it is definitely a show not to be missed. check out an interview tiffany did for my love for you back in may here.

symmetrical balance is a continuation of tiffany's investigation into the human relationship with the natural world. allegorical paintings illustrate the notion that all living things share basic needs and desires: to preserve our fragile body, to forage, to nurture and protect our family. revealing the interdependency between predators and prey, humans and our environment, symmetrical balance exposes the equilibrium that must be maintained between self-preservation and the other life upon which we depend.

le racelet, a screen print studio focusing on t-shirts, paper and fabric was created by a group of friends based in milan italy. le racelet came about as a way to showcase work and fund the groups collective love of screen printing. not only do they offer lots of graphic goods, but they also offer services as well. check 'em out!

carolyn alexander is giving up smoking. yup, she is.

recently carolyn alexander decided to give up smoking. to channel her anxious energies in the morning, instead of smoking, she draws what ever is before her. sounds like such a positive thing to take the place of an extremely hard habit to kick.

it may end up as a collection of disastrously shitty drawings, but i'll post them up anyways, good and bad. they will be numbered in the order they are made with no commentary, as i know there is nothing more tedious than a ex-smoker bitching and moaning about how much they miss smoking. apart from non-smokers bitching and moaning about how much they hate smoking. i jest.

ha! check out carolyn's effort on her blog, carolyn alexander is giving up smoking. perhaps we should all give up one nasty habit and save that money to buy some art. art smells so much better than ciggie smoke.
