Plain Surface is a publication that showcases creative talent within Glasgow, Scotland. It was set up by Stuart White and fellow Glasgow School of Art Illustration graduate Daniel Scott in 2007. Plain Surface was created as a knee jerk response to the two illustrators finding most drawing publications to be London based and focused. Stuart and Dan wanted to start up a publication which focuses its attention solely on Glasgow's art and drawing community. It is becoming a great way to build community for artist's and for people to get to know other creatives in Glasgow. Anything that creates community is awesome, to support their endeavor you can purchase the book here. Below is a snippet of the many great illustrations in the book...be sure you check out Plain Surface's site to see more. Oh and p.s they are taking submissions from any artists living in Glasgow (or have done in the past).
