Cris from Tinlark asked me last year to take part in co-curating the gallery's two year anniversary show Inspired that just opened on Saturday. I was so honored to be included with an amazing group of lady bloggers: Grace Bonney of Design*Sponge, Holly Becker of Decor 8, Joanna Goddard of a Cup of Jo, Erin Loechner (love me some Erin!) of Design for Mankind, Alyssa Thomas of Penguin & Fish and Abbey Hendrickson of Aesthetic Outburst. There is an awesome array of artists (Tanya Aguiñiga, Mike Perry, Bailey Saliwanchik, Rachel Papo, Kime Buzzelli, Martha Rich, Yu-I Chan, Betsy Walton, Marcie Paper, Ivy Jacobsen, Amy Huddleston, Souther Salazar, Anne Hall, and Henrike Stahl ). I can't wait to see more photos. I asked two women that inspire me immensely to be part of the show: Martha Rich and Kime Buzzelli. I will post more pics of the show once I get them, but here are some from the install.
Here is a bit from the email Cris sent over the weekend...I had to share this with you, because the idea is so wonderful and INSPIRING:
"In one of the photos you'll see Souther Salazar's Orange & Blue Balloons (made of lightbulbs!!) on the pillar in front of something we've created so all our guests can take part in the show -- guests will write their wishes, dreams or goals for 2009 on a slip of paper and pin it onto the wall inside the beautiful installation made by my brilliant assistant, artist Katherine Siy."
