POVevolving Gallery in Los Angeles, CA presents Hope Springs Internal a solo exhibition of my friend John Casey's most recent drawings and a large wood cut. John continues to frolic with his exploration of human biomorphing. His mythical beasties continue to capture both a menacing and sweetly, naive presence about them. It's one of the many things I really like about John's work; his ability to capture the struggle of the human condition. Keep an eye out in the coming weeks for a special feature here about the wood piece in this show...Until then, check out this Q&A John did for the blog back when we didn't use capitals!
In the back gallery John has curated "Odd Populi", a show of artists whose work inspires him personally: I am curating a group show of artists whose work I find inspirational, entitled All of these artists create great character-driven works on paper.
