Studio Visit: Jessica Hess.

Opening this Saturday at White Walls is Temporal Surfaces, new work by Jessica Hess and Kevin Cyr curated by Lainya Magaña. Over the past couple of weeks I was able to meet up with both Jess and Kevin at their studios. Today, I'll be posting my visit with Jess, and on Wednesday I'll post Kevin's visit. Both visits were so inspiring for me, I hope that the virtual tours will be for you as well!

Jess lives here in Boston, over at the Distillery of South Boston, a maze of artist residencies and studios. Her apartment is a tchotchke fetish of brilliance. Everywhere you turn there is something fascinating to feast your eyes on. Her apartment is much like her paintings, layered with stroke upon stroke of fine detail. Jess' paintings are an incredible display of technique and vision. Below are samples of her world, older paintings and work that will appear in her upcoming show at White Walls.
