Jillian MackIntosh and Mark Warren Jacques hosted a lovely Sunday Salon over the weekend. Mark opened his Dogpatch studio to the general public to showcase his latest group of paintings. It couldn't have been a more beautiful day. The warehouse where Mark has been painting has incredible light and it set an awesome atmosphere for people to relax and dance to Kool and The Gang.

We Are Dust, Monica Canilao's first solo show in NYC opens this Friday, April 30th at Cinders Gallery in Brooklyn. Sto just sent over a bunch of images from the show to share with us. I am a big fan of Monica's work and wish, wish, wish I was in New York for the show. But these images will have to do for now. Also just in case you haven't seen Faythe Levine's visit with Monica check out this post I put up on Wild Horses a few weeks ago. Such eye candy!
Emily Barletta sent over a few images of her latest crocheted masterpieces. What that girl can do with some yarn and a metal stick amazes me! Check her blog for upcoming events she is involved in.
I checked out Guerrero Gallery's second show on April 10th. If you are in SF, I highly encourage you to make it a point to get to this gallery. It is a gorgeous space and the show is well worth seeing (check out that chandelier above by Adam Wallacavage!). That whole area of the Mission is blowing up. It's come a long way from 8 yrs ago when I could quite literally breathe crack smoke in my living room that wafted up through the basement from my super considerate neighbors. The show runs through May 1st, but be sure to check their calendar the next few shows look great.

I spent a few hours with Richard Colman a little over a week ago in his studio in the Mission district in SF. Walking into his studio was such an incredible experience. There were/are paintings in all forms of progress, tables covered in paint and gold and a beautiful pit bull. I was amazed at the amount of work Rich had. His newer work has color and shapes seeping into every inch of the canvas. I was so taken with everything I had a hard time not just zoning out on all the beauty. I was super stoked that he opened up his studio to me and honestly, I could have stayed there forever. But that would have been weird and plus my iphone got no reception there, so I had to abandon that plan.
