Gemma Correll X All Mighty.

My attention was recently brought to All Mighty, an online store run by two sisters who love their little Boston Terrier, Mighty. The Shooting Gallery.

Last week I stopped by The Shooting Gallery to check out Meticulous Engagements, Christy Langer and Kris Kuksi two person show. This was one of the main shows I wanted to see while I was visiting. It didn't disappoint. Both artist's pieces are so beautifully crafted, I could have stayed there all day. You can read a Q&A I did with Christy here.

Banksy on Valencia.

I just rolled out of bed, grabbed some coffee, a ham & cheese croissant from Tartine and shot some pics of this piece by Banksy. Which quite literally appeared on Valencia street yesterday morning. Since Bansky's film,  Exit Through The Gift Shop, came out there has been a lot of dissention and haterade  around the elusive street artist. And it's hard to not wonder if this was actually Banksy that did this or part of his team. Regardless, I have serious respect for Banksy and all that he does. His commentary never ceases to make me giggle and think long and hard about the art world. He's become the Warhol of my generation and I can't wait to see what he does next. If you haven't seen Exit Through The Gift Shop, I highly recommend it. Simply put it is, in essence, piece of Banksy's art.

Thomas Doyle: Collateral Damage.

explores memory and the effect it has on our psyche in his upcoming show Collateral Damage at LeBasse Projects. His first solo show in LA, is based on the argument that one's personality can be broken down to a few, particular occurrences. Doyle creates these experiences in miniature 3-d then quite literally traps them under glass, creating a moment stopped in time. I'm a fan of anything miniature and a little bent with thoughtful intent behind it.
