Kevin Earl Taylor turned me onto Adam Friedman's incredible geodesic, paintings/collages. I have wanted to post on him for some time so now seems good a time as any as his solo show, The Back of Beyond, opens Friday night at FM Gallery in Oakland, Ca. I asked Adam to tell me briefly about his newest body of work:
"To put it as simply as I can, the work is about compacting incomprehensible amounts of time into single moments. Presenting an era that defies human intervention in the landscape."
I think that comes over in his work for sure, don't you? Adam's work definitely speaks in layers for sure, beautifully. The amount of texture and color is enough to make one salivate. Adam has a few shows coming up so be sure to check out his news section on his website to keep up with him.
The Back of Beyond opens Friday, January 7th through the 30th at FM Gallery in Oakland, Ca.
