Studio Visit: Kevin Earl Taylor.

I took a stroll up to Kevin Earl Taylor's studio yesterday on a sunny Sunday to see his latest group of work. Kevin's got a few shows coming up: first a group show in Berlin in August, and second at Rebekah Jacob Gallery in Charleston, South Carolina in October. I always like visting Kevin's studio -- he's usually got quite a few paintings and work hanging around, in various states of completion. This visit was no different. Each piece looked great. Kevin's also taken on a new craft, engraving. Check out his flasks!

Kevin is working on a few sculptural pieces, this is the first in the beginning stages of progress.

D*Face, Some Skaters, Spray Paint & a Pool.

This video has been making the rounds and it's obvious why. D*Face takes two things many people love -- skateboarding and spray paint -- and creates a happy marriage. You can see more here on Concrete Disciples page. Super great photos so be sure to check it out.

Sneak Peek: Anthony Michael Sneed.

I met up with Anthony Sneed tonight as he got ready for his upcoming show on Saturday, Grand Illusion at The Shooting Gallery. This is Sneed's first solo show in the Bay Area and he's pulling out all the stops. They were in the midst of an interactive installation when I stopped by (which I can't wait to see in action on Saturday night). Sneed took a minute to roll out a few of his paintings for me, as they sat on the sidelines wating to be framed and a few other pieces. 

Grand Illusion opens July 9th and runs through July 30th at The Shooting Gallery.

Opening: Tahiti Pehrson at EVER GOLD.

Opening pics of Tahiti Pehrson's Theta Pegasi (a star in the constellation Pegasus referred to as Biham in Arabic and when translated means “young beasts”). opened tonight at EVER GOLD. It's a really calming, tranquil show. I forgot I was in the middle of the Tenderloin while in the gallery surrounded by Pehrson's intricate paper cuttings. Gorgeous show.
