something's hiding in here.

oh cute.  design and cuteness combined, gotta love it.  i recently found 'something's hiding in here' the lil etsy shoppe of shauna alterio and stephen loidolt.  it's a perfect combination of beautiful wooden treats, lovely clean prints and just over all goodness made well.  this couple has a wonderful sense of humor, and it clearly shows in their products.  if you are in san francisco, be sure to check out their show that is currently up at rare device.  you can also purchase items through rare device as well.  something's hiding in here also has a great blog too.

office work made easy.

i think if i had to wake up everyday and stumble into this office and stare at this wall i'd be alright w/ it.  why is everything always better in helvetica?  antonio carusone designed this on his office wall.  antonio writes the blog aisle one, a great resource blog on typography and graphic design.  you can read more about how he made it here along w/ all his super informative posts on helvetica, typography, design, etc.

the quiet life celebrates 10 yrs.

the quiet life just celebrated their ten yr. anniversary and to help them celebrate they've asked ten of their fav artists to design t-shirts and accessories.  some of the peeps involved are evan hecox, cody hudson, megan whitmarsh, ben loiz.  check the the quiet life's store to see the other designs.  oh, and when you order an item the quiet life will include the limited edition anniversary 'zine they put together w/ the artists.  sweet!

i saw this great graphic print by cody hudson over on his blog.  there is only a limited amount, 50 actually.  you can find them exclusively at goodshape, which is a nice, crisp, neat design site featuring t's and limited edition prints. 

wayne pate the designer behind goodshape, started the site back in april to spread his creative wings a bit w/out the added pressure of...well, pressure.  wayne will be featuring more designer's w/ limited edition prints and t's.  upcoming artists goodshape will be featuring are tyler askew and chris bianchi.  also, he'll have ladies sizes in a lot of the men's designs in the coming week.  i'm personally loving the sgt. pepper and the keith haring designs.  one for you, two for me...

earrings.  i can't ever have enough.  never ever.  i love the simplicity of molly m designs.  the jewelry designer is influenced by birds in flight, branches, water patterns, city landscapes to name a few of her influences.  molly m's designs are sophisticated and classic while still maintaining a modern style.  her materials are arcylic, felt, bamboo and birch veneers.  i personally can't ever get enough wood accessories, i think it is such a great accent.  i'm a big fan of the hippie vibe when accessorizing though...these earrings tone that down.  the celluose series, and the branch group are two of my favs.

totes.  totes.  totes.  i can't ever get enough muslin totes w/ graphics on them.  these "vintage shoppers" are above and beyond my expectations when it comes to basic totes.  and that is exactly what i love about them.  they are simple yet  intricately printed.  as the genius behind these cuties, showpony describes them: "a unique twist on the classic canvas tote."  perfect.  these beauties are made on fair trade organic cotton, lined for extra durability.  the perfect accessory to tote your groceries home or to just pop around the city.  and check out the cute lil coin purses.  yep, can't ever have enough of those either.  so cute.

sometimes i wish i could just hold up a sign when dealing w/ situations or people, or pass a note.  in all of those situations when i just don't feel like explaining myself.  we could have universal sign language when we just don't feel like talking.  it could be something along the lines of: "hey, nothing to see here...move along.  ok.  thanks."    well thanks to chris simmons and the creative folks at MINE a design firm in san francisco i may have found my answer.

not unlike police tape we see at crime scenes, "everything is ok." tape lets the passersby and people involved know that all is fine and there is nothing to be alarmed by.  i need some of this tape in my life.  i could wrap it all over me and my boxes.  so when my friends come to help me move this weekend, they'll see the cue and know that all is copacetic and there is nothing to worry about.  in fact i think this tape is a must in the household first aid kit.
