Bay area artist and friend Liam Devowski just launched his sweatshirt/t-shirt line, Teenagers in Love. A vintage inspired "California casual clothing line", I am so excited to get my hands on one. Each piece has Liam's signature sharp shapes and his perfect way with colorcombo gracing the front. Perfect for these Spring days.
Like most people, when the new year comes I want to start a new. So I clean my room, get rid of things I haven't used in forever and start a fresh as it were. AND like most people (at least the people I fraternize with) when I organize and clean I need to buy things to make
my area just right. You know, to take the place of all the things I got
rid of! It's empty in here now! I just found this amazing concept from Layer X Layer, the ELM clamp. Genius! I need this. Really. I do. Be sure to check out Layer X Layer's sharp, utilitarian backpacks and totes too.
In October James Gauvreau sent me images of his and Anna Pantchev latest work under the name The Invariant Set. Obviously, this post is stupidly late...but I really loved what they sent, and to be honest I just do not have enough time in the day (with a full time job, meh.) to post everything I receive or want to for that matter. But enough whingeing about things that can not be help. I grew up around many women who quilt, so right off the bat The Invariant Set's work instinctively appealed to me. The colors, the shape, the whole set up: LOVE. Better late than never. Learn more about them on their blog.
James Joyce's crisp, straight forward images make me really happy. One thing I always look for in art is a wit that comes over loud and clear, but done in a clever way. You feel me? P.s. I emailed James to use his work, but no response...So I took liberties. I think it's cool though. If not this post will self-destruct in 3, 2, 1...
