You've Got Light In Your Eyes: last weekend.

1911

I just wanted to give the show I curated at Needles + Pens, You've Got Light In Your Eyes, a little plug here on the blog, as this is the last weekend to check it out before it comes down. It was such a great show to be a part of and the work was all so dynamic and beautiful. You can view all the art work online, there are some great pieces at super great prices too. If you want something really bad...hit me or Andrew at N+P up, we'd be happy to see the work fall into loving hands! Support the artists you love and have something amazing for your walls! It's worth it.

FREE Free Iran print.

IRANPOSTER

Ashkahn Shahparnia is spreading the word about the chaos and repression happening in Iran right now. He's made a FREE Iran print  for you to download to help get the message out. You can down load that here in a few different sizes. There is also a t-shirt available as well, the cost of the T covers the making of the shirt, that's all.

Tiffany Bozic interview on Walrus TV.

Walrus TV just post an interview with Tiffany Bozic. Man, that girl is so talented it's mind blowing. The video shows her studio, in action and lots and lots of her sketches. Super inspiring. Tiffany did a q&a for the blog last year, you can read that here.

Know Hope video clip.

Here's a video of Know Hope's installation at Carmichael Gallery in LA that opened the beginning of the month. Hmmm, kinda looks like Boston, with all that rain...yet not as gray, way serene and actually nothing like Boston. There was something like 40,000 raindrops cut out for this install. Woah.

Scott Harrison.

Bp_10

I was just recently turned onto Scott Harrison's art work. His work has a slightly hysterical twisted vibe to it, and with all this rain, people, that's fine with me. Check out more on his site...but be warned if your boss has a good eye, you may want to wait til you get home. There's boobies and shizz. Be sure to check out Scott's day job.

Nick Z mural at Bodega.

Mural5

I stopped by Bodega on Friday to check out the freshly painted mural that Nick Z just got up. Nice and bright and happy, which is a nice break from the crappy weather we're having here in Boston. The mural is a teaser to his show Don't Hassle Me I'm Local opening on Saturday at Fourth Wall Project.

If you have never been to Bodega here in Boston, you are missing out on one of the best word of mouth secrets. It makes me happy that such a place exists in Boston. You'll have to stop by yourself to see what I am talking about. I picked up a t-shirt by WOWCH. LOVE them. Below are some pics of Bodega, some art work by Kenji Nakayama and Nick's mural.

Jim Tierney.

Lytton

Jim Tierney's website is comfy, cozy, inviting and straight to the point. No 17 gazillion pop up windows, no flash or hard to navigate buttons...just beautiful drawings. His illustrations have that old timey feel that I am increasingly drawn to. His work is clean and kinda magic like, I'm feeling it big time. Jim's plans for the summer is to draw a lot and get ready for his senior year at The University of The Arts. Throw some ice tea in there and it sounds like a plan to me.

Cafe Royal Tote bag.

Caferoyal

I can't ever get enough tote bags. It's become a bit of problem actually. Like they can't all fit on my doorknobs of my closet door anymore. Kinda wrong, right? But when tote bags look this cute, come from one of the best zine distributors and are so inexpensive...how can you go wrong? Plus, Café Royal's logo is so nuts I love it.

Chris Ballantyne at 20x200.

Neighborhood

Last month, contributing blogger Dan Szymanowski posted about Chris Ballantyne. I wasn't familiar with his work, but hey that's why Dan rules. He picks up the proverbial slack over here while I'm asleep at the wheel. It was great to see an artist on the blog I wasn't familiar with, kind of weird at the same time but nonetheless a cool thing. Anyway, I'll stop rambling now, you can buy two limited edition prints of Chris' at 20x200: Untitled, Neighborhood and Untitled, Tidal Bore (surfer).

Hayley Carmo.

Strangeandfamiliar

I recently saw Hayley Carmo's drawings and ribbons over on The Shiny Squirrel. She's a talented lady for sure, just look at the range here. Hayley just updated her etsy shop with all sorts of things...limited edition totes, award ribbons and prints. I think everyone needs an award ribbon, personally. Hayley's are made of recycled paper and ribbon with beautiful colors like deep burgandy and teal.

Live Now.

Livenow

Live Now is a collaborative effort started by Eric Smith. After being diagnosed with three different types of cancer, Eric's life was changed forever. He started Live Now to focus on the positive, to live here now:
Live Now is a project consisting of a growing collection of quotes, thoughts, stories, lyrics, creations and other various mediums, pursuing the idea of 'living now' and inspiring us all to grow, live meaningful lives & be happy!

The latest collaboration is with Will Bryant. It's exactly what I need to read after being quarantined in my house for days with the possibility of having swine flu. Super Posi!

Oh Makool.

Makool

I am a sucker for a good dress. Ask my friends, I'll wear that bad Larry into the ground if I love it enough. I can't stop looking at this dress from Makool. Will you just get a load of the detail? Saving me pennies...
