Boston's Bazaar Bizarre.

I was so delighted to check out of Boston's own Bazaar Bizarre on Sunday. The line was out the door and around the corner! I was so impressed by the amount of people that were there to see handmade! It made me really excited and proud to call Boston home.

I met a bunch of new people, saw friends and bought some great things. I just recently got a new camera...so I thought I'd show it off with some pics of my favorite vendors (and things) from the Bazaar. There are a ton of photos, so be sure you click on the 'see more' link at the bottom!

Alice works really hard to find the best and perfectly distressed canvas. I was able to snatch one of her bags and I love it so much I can't even use it yet! Does that ever happen to you?

Devin Troy Strother.

Devin Troy Strother just sent me a link to his website and MAN, I was blown away. His smorgasbord of acrylic paint, colored pencils, cel vinyl, silk screen on cut paper is a cacophony of beauty, race, emotion and just plain radness. Wow.

Test Everything

Another Austin project! Test Everything is a self initiated project created by Texas State art whiz Rand Rendfrow. Test Everything specializes in producing editioned fine art books, zines, posters, and other printed goodness.

Everything's Okay, I Drew This For You is the debut zine of Test Everything's collection. He's got more issues on the way and is always looking for more contributors.

Each page has been screen printed with skillz and real love by this kid.

Le Raclet just released the above new print from 2501. With six bright colors and a magic stone that glows in the dark. Who doesn't love anything that glows in the dark?! Act quick, there are only 23 of them.

forest object fabrication: new scarves on etsy.

I can't ever get enough scarves. Seriously, I have a giant basket full of them. I was delighted to get an email from Breanne Trammell who had teased me a few months back with images of her limited edition screen printed/vintage t-shirts letting me know that the scarves are now available. They all look so rad, combining original graphics with FOF's own geometric patterns, shapes and animals. See all of them on FOF's etsy shop. Also check out Breanne's website where she is continually blowing me away with her work...like her XL Cooty catcher.

green tees apparel.

Green tees apparel just uploaded some stellarly (i made that word up!) sweet new organic cotton t's and totes. Lord knows how I love the totes but check out those scarves...but don't blink, you'll miss'em there is only a very limited amount of these hand sewn babies. Green tees works their hardest to bring you ethical, environmentally friendly and attractive clothing which you can wear with pride, guilt-free. Neil pulls all the ink himself!

what i wouldn't do for a pink sweatshirt with signature kate moross gold isometric designs and shapes all over it. my mind is about to explode thinking of the many adorable outfits i could put together with kate's t's, sweatshirts and totes. i'm sorry if that comes over a bit shallow, but i can't think about world peace, adorable animals and art all day, a girl needs a break. don't hem and haw for too long, all of these items are limited edition. shop here now.

le racelet, a screen print studio focusing on t-shirts, paper and fabric was created by a group of friends based in milan italy. le racelet came about as a way to showcase work and fund the groups collective love of screen printing. not only do they offer lots of graphic goods, but they also offer services as well. check 'em out!

here shop and gallery just celebrated their 5th anniversary, what better way to celebrate then by having a party with some talented people and the print gocco?

we feel that the accessibility of print gocco reflects our own DIY ethos in running a gallery, and so have chosen to celebrate our 5th anniversary with a group show of gocco based artwork. to accompany the exhibition, we will be releasing a portfolio of gocco prints, produced in a signed and numbered edition of 50, collected in a custom made presentation box.

we’ve selected artists who look beyond the limitations of the device, to show that it can also be used to produce fine art works. those involved are from a range of disciplines; textile design, fine art, illustration, graphic design, and animation.

feather your nest at paper boat boutique.

it's so cold here in boston, i almost want to cry. just got back from walking my dog...and indeed i'd like to spend all day feathering my nest and curling up in it w/ a good movie and a warm cup of tea! in preparation for this long awaited spring paper boat boutique presents feather your nest. a two person show w/ artists amy rice and abby glassenburg. although both artists work in completely different mediums, they employ the same sensibility when it comes to using found and scavenged objects and materials w/in their work. feather your nest opened on april 4th, however the show opening takes place this friday, april 18th. don't miss out, the gallery will be filled w/ all things spring. lord knows i need it!

loyalty & blood.

first we had birds, then deer, then horses, then owls...all as the latest animal de rigueur.  well, i'm calling it now.  wolves.  yep, wolves are next.  i'm just saying.  i may be wrong...but i for one, want to kick off the craze w/ this rad tote bag by loyalty & blood.  but, i don't really want to stop there either i want to add some hawks in the picture w/ L&B's olive hoodie.  perhaps i need some layering, how about the spiral tee?  oh, and don't get me started on the osprey mirrored earrings they've got. seriously, i'm dying for payday over here. well, regardless of my fashion quandry check out loyalty & blood's etsy shop.  they've got a little chicness of everything for all animal lovers.

forestbound.

loving this print and pouch from forestbound over on etsy.  the print just speaks to my belief that one can never have too much hope.  and as for the pouch, well a girl can't ever have enough vessels to hold things either!  i'm a big fan of corduroy.  i just love it.  in fact one of the biggest things i miss about not living in sf any more is that i will no longer be able to wear corduroy skirts all yr round.  ahhh, problems.  forestbound uses all reclaimed materials w/in her work.  i love how her style is rustic w/ an edge to it.  a nice break from classic w/ a twist.  so cute.

what would we have done if the print gocco was actually doomed to the little printing press in the clouds?  how lucky are we that some good peeps got together and saved that little gadget's proverbial ass.  (i believe paper source now carries gocco.)  i have my own gocco and wouldn't give it up if my life depended on it...well, perhaps that's an exaggeration, but you feel me right?

check out wondercabinet's etsy shop.  she's got a bunch of beasties aka chimeras in her shop.  twelve chimeras in all, making wondercabinet's beastiarium complete.  each printed on her gocco in glorious colors.  great gift ideas and a great way to support handmade.  these are a few of my favs.

julie over at analogue books along w/ her friend natalie have opened early griffin press, a limited edition silk screening online site.  yes, that's right silk screen not giclee prints!  they started early griffin "to enable us to indulge our love for the hand made               quality and process involved in screen printing and the desire to               work with artists we admire."  well, their love is shining through.  already they have released their second set of prints, by artists holly wales, neasden control centre and robert hanson and they're truly great.  each print is a three color, signed and numbered edition of 50 only and a proceed of the sales goes to the artists charity of their choice.  this is a great opportunity to pick up limited edition work...you may have missed the boat for xmas or hanukkah but who knows maybe you should start celebrating festivus just for the hell of it.
