Insert Metaphor Here, the two man show with Adam 5100 and Seth Armstrong opened last week at Tampa's Red Letter 1. I just received a boatload of opening night pics from Adam! Just in case you aren't in the vicinity of the sunshine state, you can sit in your air conditioned cubicle and catch a glimpse of this solid show. Check out that last photo, Adam saw the Space Shuttle taking off as he arrived at the airport. Pretty Rad.

loving this video from adam5100. he's a been a fav of mine since i interned at juxtapoz.com back in 2006. adam is an incredibly talented stencil artist from the bay area. check out his website and yes, yes, those are stencils. i'm really excited to see what adam get's up to for his new show the heart vs. the mind on the 21st of may at rowan morrison gallery in oakland, ca.

feather your nest at paper boat boutique.

it's so cold here in boston, i almost want to cry. just got back from walking my dog...and indeed i'd like to spend all day feathering my nest and curling up in it w/ a good movie and a warm cup of tea! in preparation for this long awaited spring paper boat boutique presents feather your nest. a two person show w/ artists amy rice and abby glassenburg. although both artists work in completely different mediums, they employ the same sensibility when it comes to using found and scavenged objects and materials w/in their work. feather your nest opened on april 4th, however the show opening takes place this friday, april 18th. don't miss out, the gallery will be filled w/ all things spring. lord knows i need it!

oh swoon.

don't you love it when your favorite people work together?  i love when artists i admire are in the same shows.  i don't love it when they are thousands of miles away and i can't go...but, the love outweighs the sadness so we must always focus on the silver lining, don't we?  yes we shall.  swoon has her first show in paris today at galerie l.j. beauborg and has invited mike brodie and chris stain.  i heart swoon and mike brodie aka the polaroid kidd.

swoon just basically rocks.  she's by far one of my most favorite street artists.  her paper cuts are like nothing out there.  her cutouts are intricate, unique and undeniably wonderful.  out here on the street we've all loved her for a long time and now over the past couple yrs peeps in the gallery world are catching on.  thank god.  jeez what took them so long?

mike brodie aka the polaroid kidd rides the rails through out the states and documents his travels.  his photos make me want to grab a stick and tie one of those doohickey red bandana thingys at the end, hop on a train, learn some hobo hieroglyphics and never come home.  his photos have a beautiful golden glow and make stickin it to the man look oh so romantic.
