I love animals. I do. When I was a girl, I would openly sing in my Grandparents backyard hoping all the woodland critters would join in. You know, Snow White alá Disney-style. No such luck. I'm older now, and a little bit more jaded but I still have not lost my love of the furry beasties. So I was excited to hear about Thinkspace's upcoming show, A Cry For Help. A benefit show for Born Free and the Animal Protection Institute where twenty percent of all proceeds will be donated to their cause. There are a ton of amazing artists on the bill...old and new. If you are in the area I highly recommend you check it out. Co-curator Amanda Erlanson sent over a smattering of what's in the show. Looking real good! Here's a bit about the show:
Thinkspace is proud to present "A Cry For Help," a benefit exhibition with the goal of raising awareness about the plight of animals in our modern world. Featuring more than 100 artists who represent every branch of the new contemporary scene, this show has been curated with an eye to representing the unique and innovative attributes of a select group of seasoned veterans and fresh-eyed newcomers from five continents. In keeping with the benefit's mission, each artist will explore different facets of our complicated relationship with the creatures with whom we share this planet.
