Space Is The Place: Paintings of U.F.O.'s and Such opened last week at Webb Gallery with all new work by Esther Pearl Watson. Staying true to her roots, Esther continues to tell bold stories of her childhood through her detailed scenes of trashed front yards and giant U.F.O.'s hanging out to the side as if it's no big deal. Ahhh, the memories of a young girl who lived with an inventor father who would use the car's battery for the family U.F.O. Plus her use of glitter is always appreciated in my book. You can read a Q&A Esther did with the blog last year here. Space Is The Place runs through April 18th, 2010.
Stay tuned for Monday when the blog will have a give-a-away of Esther's books Unlovable from Fantagraphics.
