Fabric: Melinda Josie.

I definitely do not cover fabric enough on the blog. That being said, the Kitty Bud fabric from artist Melinda Josie should more than make up for my lack of coverage. !!!! I have had a hard time concentrating on what I need to be doing today, and instead have been roaming around the internet. Thank GOD as I just saw pillows made of Melinda's fabric by Anabela on her blog, Fieldguided. I love that the fabric is a take on the vintage rosebud fabric I cherished as a little girl. You can order all sorts of weight in this lovely fabric: quilting cotton, canvas, sateen, cotton knit and more. Oh and it comes in blue too!

Little Paper Planes Giveaway!

It's hard to not ignore the environment these days, it's no longer like the old days when the environment was just there and we could do what we wanted and not feel any kind of remorse. But now enviromentalism is so prevalent we've got NBC hashing out PSA's and BP Oil making sure their logo fits with the green agenda (at least they've got that going for them). Nathan Abels addresses what he calls the "the noticeably unnatural human habitat" within his paintings and the effect our impact has had whether it be construction or in most cases, destruction.

The Endangered Species Print Series.

Molly Schafer and Jenny Kendler started The Endangered Species Print Series to raise awareness and money around the threat of endangered species. With each limited edition print that is made, the number of actual available prints corresponds with the remaining animal or plant populations left today. Sad, but true...and an awesome way to draw attention to how dire the numbers are. 100% of all the proceeds are donated to the selected organizations of each print. Awesome and generous. Check out this California Condor print by Barnaby Whitfield, pretty stunning.
