I posted about Chris Thornley's awesome bike inspired work last month. So many of his graphics induce that total love for jumping on your bike and just going with it. Since we had such a beautiful day today (87˚!!!) I thought I'd post one of Chris' t's you can get on Threadless. Because as usual I want one.

Mike Dacey of Repeat Press and Graphic designer Chris Piascik recently collaborated to make a letterpress print to celebrate and accompany Chris' latest tribute 'zine to Major Taylor. The fellas sent over images to share with us the process behind the making of the print and some biz cards for Chris. Sweet!

These bad Larrys are flying out the door...so if I were you I would just scan these pics and head on over to Print Brigade to get the print or the zine. Or just make it a deal and just get both. STAT.

Illustrated by hand in Boston, MA. 
Printed by hand in Somerville, MA at Repeat Press, as a tribute to Major Taylor who spent the majority of his life in Worcester, MA.

Marshall "Major" Taylor (26 November 1878–21 June 1932) was an American cyclist who won the world one-mile track cycling championship in 1899 after setting numerous world records and overcoming racial discrimination. Renowned as The Fastest Bicycle Rider In The World in the early 1900’s, accredits his success as a world champion to the value of good habits and clean living.

Judging by twitter, facebook and the other various ways I keep in touch with my friends all over the globe it seems like everybody had a stellar weekend. These prints from Chris Thornley encompass the first spring-like weekend perfectly! Chris' work just make me want to get on my bike and ride, ride, ride. And with names like "I Don't Want To Die In My Sleep." and "It's All Down Hill From Here." encourage me to pedal faster. Keep Calm and Ride On.

This summer, I got on my bike and fell in love. It had been built especially for me, for my birthday. It truly is one of the best presents I have ever received. I've always had a bike on hand, but for one reason or another just never got into them. Now I am slightly obsessed and needless to say eager for the snow to go. There is something so exhilarating about getting on your bike and just taking off. I saw Jen Renninger's print on Poppytalk Handmade Marketplace and it describes exactly how I feel about my bike. Plus, it's an adorable interpretation of the ubiquitous poster of a similar sentiment. See the print here.
