I love that along with EINE's show, GREATEST, that opened over the weekend at White Walls he also showed literally all over SF on walls, roll-down grates and any where else he saw fit. So rad to see his work in so many different places.
GREATEST will be on view at White Walls till April 2, 2011. Be sure to check out Mike Maxwell's episode with EINE on his Live Free podcast series here.

ABOVE is currently travelling all over the world. Hitting cities as he goes and keeping me posted on his way. His latest stencil was done in Brisbane, after the horrible floods:
"I tried my best not to make fun at this drastic and horrific situation but instead to empathize and portray just how serious and large the scale of these floods had been with the relative depiction of "NOAH's" ark being sunk due to the floods."

"BECAUSE NOW I'M WORTH IT" from ABOVE on Vimeo.
Above is still working it out all over the streets and walls of Europe on his continuing world tour. In his latest video he plays with space and contradiction in referencing a famous Banksy piece while commenting on the illegal nature of street art as well as the theft of such highly sought after pieces. In his words: "It’s an interesting concept and somewhat of an irony as we the artists and the thieves are both working in an illegal manner. One illegal activity inspires another. The artist paints illegally with spray cans on a wall, while the thieves jack hammer and chip off illegally painted walls, illegally." Read more about the current piece here.

A GOOD ARCHER... from ABOVE on Vimeo.
ABOVE has set out for a trip through Europe and at his first stop in Germany he put up a site specific stencil installation at Concrete Playground. He's put his own spin on an old proverb: A good archer is known for his arrows and not his aim. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge. ;)meighan on Monday, August 23, 2010 in installation., stencils., street art. | Permalink | Comments (0) | TrackBack (0)
